Chapter 1: Why choose Mang Den?
Our group consists of 05 people who are single due to accumulating a lot of karma, so we want to find a place with the following criteria: fresh climate, little impact from humans on the ecosystem, few people so we can cultivate our minds, nurture our nature, and be at peace. Peace of mind and peace of mind, reducing karma. Among the countless place names in Vietnam, MangDen caught my attention because of its strange name. When I heard Ms. Oanh say (Name of a friend in the Serious Group), I turned to quietly ask my colleague if he knew MangDen?, he turned to me. answered calmly, "I haven't eaten Bamboo shoots yet." So I searched google, went to the Me MangDen page to learn more and decided on Me MangDen. Airline tickets* were booked soon after.
(*VietJet ticket price is about 1 million round trip at the time I booked more than 1 month in advance)
Chapter 2: Cold and aching bones - An unforgettable first impression!
After eating and having fun in Pleiku, we rented a motorbike and drove 3 hours* to Mang Den. Even though An - Votu homestay told us in advance to bring warm clothes, we still relied on him because we thought it would be at most a dozen degrees cold, Da Lat wouldn't even be a match for buffalo skin like ours, let alone "Da Lat 2". The thin jacket used to block the sun in Saigon fell when the car just reached Mang Den Pass. To make it easier to imagine, you can imagine that you are naked, soaking in a bucket of ice water and turning on 3 fans. While driving, I just prayed for sunshine, but it didn't! The sky is too high above, it can't reach me. In the midst of melancholy, number 17 TruongChinh - Votu homestay appeared like a flash of oil lamp light when the house had a power outage. There was no need for the host to invite us straight into the room, put on our pants, cover ourselves with a soft blanket and sleep until the afternoon.
(*Due to stopping along the way for a snack, if we run straight, it will probably take about 2 hours and 15 minutes)
Chapter 3: The time in Mang Den is longer than in Saigon!?
A discovery that could win a Nobel Prize in physics is "The time in Mang Den is longer than in Saigon". In Saigon, time passes very quickly, struggling to finish the day, when I open my eyes in the morning I'm almost late for work and still feel sleep deprived. At Mang Den, we felt slower, we slept for a very long time but woke up and went back to sleep for a long time. Very refreshing, if I keep living like this I think I will grow old very soon.
Chapter 4: Miss Sinh's grilled chicken, why is it delicious?
As a person who loves food, I really want to find out why the food is "delicious" (if I had received careful admission advice in the past, I would not have chosen a career as a lawyer but would have done a bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related profession. eat). We ate at Quan Co Sinh the following dishes: Grilled chicken with lam rice; Banana flower salad; Lac fish hotpot, grilled meat. The dishes here are all delicious, but my favorite is the Grilled Chicken* so I'll just focus on this dish. The things that make this dish delicious in my opinion are:
+ Fresh, green ingredients: I think Ms. Sinh has chosen the ingredients very carefully. The chicken must be free-range chicken (here it is probably free-range from the mountains so the meat seems firmer), the accompanying vegetables such as cucumber, even white, are also rich in flavor (vegetables bought in Saigon have large leaves but a bland taste). After finishing the chicken, we still asked for more cucumber to eat without salt. J
+ Not too spicy: Ms. Sinh marinated the chicken and thought she didn't add much spice so the chicken flavor was still retained. In particular, the secret ingredient here is the forest leaves stuffed into the chicken's stomach (I don't know the name of this leaf, but when I try to eat it, the ring is smooth and slimy like a vegetable), making the dish have a very unique taste, temporarily called the taste. Mountain forest.
+ Chicken dipping salt: Chicken dipping salt is granular salt, the recipe is also very simple, only salt, chili and lime leaves. However, the highlight is that she roasted the salt, which made the salt less harsh and much more fragrant.
+ Grilling technique: Grilling technique is very important in determining the fate of grilled dishes (burnt grill means you will stop eating even if the marinade is delicious :v). Ms. Sinh grills the chicken with charcoal, so the taste is very unique compared to grilling with electricity, microwave, gas... The right height to place the chicken on the layer of charcoal below makes the chicken skin crispy, no snoring, and meat inside. When it's ripe, it's soft and watery.
+ Cold taste: There's nothing better than eating grilled food in cold weather. A hot piece of chicken, dipped in a little salt and salty chili, after eating, drinking a glass of warm guava leaf water, it's as poetic as Ly Bach looking at the moon!.
* Grilled chicken $10/chicken; salad 2 dollars; Lam rice: 2 USD/6 small tubes; strabismus fish hotpot, $8 (the accompanying vegetable is ginseng); grilled meat 0.8 USD/skewer. Also on the menu are: chicken hotpot with ginseng leaves; pepper hot pot (seems like a new dish)…
Chapter 5: Reasons to choose Votu Homestay?
Among the many recommended names for motels, homestays, and hotels in Mang Den, Votu Homestay is a fairly new name. We really like new things. But it's not easy to explain. There must be a clear reason. My first impression after learning about this Homestay is Karma, not Karma like us but Startup. I really like young people starting a business and daring to pursue their dreams, so I "deposited" them and then went to see how they could stay and eat, to fix the price, to complain, and to let them down :v
During the days staying at Votu Homestay, I found that in general, my friends were "reasonable" and saw that we were cold. They were afraid that we would get sick and no one would pay for the room, so they made lemonade and honey to drink, no matter where we saw them. That in the eyes was the regret for the jar of honey of two young girls. Furthermore, he told us, "You guys can take the noodles and coffee in the cupboard, it's free" even though we knew we were all full of acne.
Commenting on the two little owners, An and Dan, I feel the "loveliness and modesty" through their cheerful smiles. Homestays also know how to take advantage of unique customers so that when they know they are cold, they sell cold clothes, at a cheap price, but with the obligation to pay. There is a small bookshelf, a quick glance shows Doremon, Norwegian Wood... (genres not very related).
In short, because I determined from the beginning of the trip to clear my karma, I also gave it 5 stars.
